20 New Temples Announced!

At the April 2021 general conference, President Nelson announced the construction of 20 new temples!

They will be built in these locations: Oslo, Norway; Brussels, Belgium; Vienna, Austria; Kumasi, Ghana; Beira, Mozambique; Cape Town, South Africa; Singapore, Republic of Singapore; Belo Horizonte, Brazil; Cali, Columbia; Queretaro, Mexico; Torreon, Mexico; Helena, Montana; Casper, Wyoming; Grand Junction, Colorado; Farmington, New Mexico; Burley, Idaho; Eugene, Oregon; Elko, Nevada; Yorba Linda, California; and Smithfield, Utah.

This brings the total number of temples operating, under construction, or announced to 250. President Hinckley set a goal of having 100 temples operating by the year 2000. That goal was achieved.

In a little over 20 more years, the number of temples has increased 150 percent…!
