Saratoga Springs Utah Temple
As with all good temple visits, it starts with where you were when you began the visit. In this case, I was at FanX in Salt Lake City. Here’s proof:
I’m here in Salt Lake City to help out my friends at this convention. The great thing is, the Saratoga Springs Temple is just west of Lehi. And Lehi is just south of Salt Lake City…
I left the FanX Convention after interviewing Quinton Aaron, co-star of the movie The Blind Side. He was this week’s guest on my radio show. He did a great job!
At the end of Day 1, I headed south on the Frontrunner and got off at Lehi. Thank you to FanX for giving me a UTA pass for the weekend!
From the Frontrunner station, I took Lyft to the temple, about a 15-minute drive.
The first thing I noticed was the SIZE of this temple. It’s BIG!! My last temple visit was to the Helena Montana Temple, our first modular temple. The Saratoga Springs Utah iTemple is NOT a modular temple. Nowhere close!
The second thing I noticed was the IMMENSE parking lots that surround the temple and the adjacent stake center. Obviously, they are planning on lots of people coming to this temple!
The third thing I noticed was the THREE LEVEL structure of the temple. You walk from level to level on beautiful marble stairs that are colored in light blue, tan, and cream-colored themes. It’s BEAUTIFUL!
The celestial room is GORGEOUS with eight chandeliers. Lavander is a popular color here, from the chairs to the vases on the tables. Spectacular!
The fourth thing I noticed was information about the relative I was going through for. He was born 100 YEARS before me! 1858 in England! What a thrill!
The fifth thing I noticed were the BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS outside. At nighttime, use the flash!
The sixth thing I noticed was the direction Moroni was facing. WEST. I thought that was cool.
The seventh thing I noticed was the amazing growth of the Saratoga Springs area. I had never been out there before. It is IMMENSE with beautiful, upscale homes!
The Saratoga Springs Utah Temple is the 179th dedicated temple. It was dedicated August 13, 2023 by President Henry B. Eyring.
On the way home, my generous Lyft driver paused at In N Out Burger because I was starving! Thank heavens for him!
I arrived home at my mothers house in Spanish Fork around 11:30. I was struck by the irony that we just finished our first modular temple in Helena, Montana and yet only a couple of months after that temple was dedicated, we dedicated this gorgeous large temple in Saratoga Springs. Obviously, the Lord knows what He’s doing and He is customizing these buildings for the people and the area.
The next four temples on my hit list are Bentonville Arkansas, Toronto Canada, Montreal Canada, and Moses Lake Washington. We have 179 dedicated temples now and I have been to 88 of them. So, I’ve got less than 100 to catch up with the church! Wish me luck!
