Manti Utah Temple

My parents picked me up at the St. George Shuttle stop (the Flying J in Springville) yesterday at 4 PM. I keep a set of temple clothing at my mother’s home to use when I come out West. Because the Manti Temple rents clothes we headed straight for it from the shuttle stop.
The driving directions from Springville to Manti are very simple: drive 65 m.p.h. south on I-15, turn left headed towards Price, stop once and turn right headed towards what used to be Thistle, then continue to drive 65 m.p.h. until you’re at the entrance to the temple.
I love the open valleys, sagebrush, and numerous cabins that are nestled up in the mountains as you head south towards Manti.
We pulled off the side of the road when we got to Ephraim. My ex-wife’s older brother, her father, and one set of her grandparents are buried in the Ephraim Cemetery. Her brother died when he was only 4 1/2; her father and grandfather died only a couple of months apart. It was a touching moment and the perfect thing to do when you’re headed to the temple. Here lie four people who will be in the Celestial Kingdom.
My mom had told me about some raisin cookies that she was really excited to get at a bakery in Mount Pleasant, so we stopped and picked some up!
We had some people take a photo of us just as we arrived. We then went into this majestic temple which was dedicated in 1877. 
The majesty of this building, the size of the rooms that you visit, the incredible murals on the walls, the elegant antique furniture, the photos and depictions of many people that are hanging on the walls, and even a couple of hand-woven tapestries were awesome! How they built such a magnificent structure in the mid-1800’s is beyond me.
I’d love to tell you more about what I saw and felt inside but I can’t. You’ll have to go there yourself to discover those treasures!
Hats off once again to the wonderful temple workers who volunteer their time to make this temple run. Both young and old were on hand and they did a terrific job.
Afterwards I had to stop at the Malt Shop in Ephraim and get their Valentine’s Day Special: a red velvet cake malt with Oreo cookies mixed into it.
It was a pleasure to visit such a wonderful temple. There were only eight of us in the session. There’s room for many more!
