Columbia South Carolina Temple
It would be my final and seventh temple in the last five days. I drove here from Atlanta this morning.
The trick would be to make it before they close. Their last endowment session starts at 2:30 PM. I got there at 3:10 PM. But that’s OK because I wasn’t planning to do an endowment session anyway. They put me in the initiatory area and off we went.
It was fun to see some palm trees out in front of this temple, even though they’re not palm trees they’re called something else…
Apparently they liked me back in the initiatory area because when I left one of them said to me from behind a curtain, “Brother Cook, we’re glad you were here with your sparkling personality. Otherwise the three of us would’ve probably died and gone to heaven.” I love those temple workers!
As far as the food goes for after the temple session let me introduce you to Duck Donuts! They make them fresh while you wait.
It’s now about 490 miles to home. By the time I get home I will have driven around 2100 miles on this trip. This is a White Friday adventure that I will never forget!
