Chicago Illinois Temple
My 50th temple!
I knew it was going to be a good day when I saw my buddy Al Jackson at the BWI airport this morning. He’s so cool he looks great even from the back…
I left BWI at 7 AM and arrived at Chicago O’Hare at 8:15 AM. From there I took the blue line train to the Jackson stop then transferred to a redline train and took it to 51st and 53rd St.. At that point it was just a couple blocks walk to Giordano‘s, a very hip deep dish pizza place.
I was privileged to have lunch with my niece Katie, who just got married in January, her husband Kurtis, and another niece Kiera. Katie and Kurtis are studying economics. He is working at the University of Chicago under a Nobel prize winner. Kiera graduated with a Masters degree in social work from Northwestern.
Kiera kindly drove me to the Chicago Temple and then came in and did an endowment session with me. It was wonderful!
I’m now back at the airport getting ready to catch the 8:45 flight back to Baltimore. Apparently they’re overbooked and I may go after the $250 flight voucher they’re offering for volunteers to get off the plane. We’ll see!
It was a great day in Chicago seeing family and going to another House of the Lord. I absolutely loved it!
