LONDON ENGLAND TEMPLE

LONDON ENGLAND TEMPLE

Tomorrow morning, I catch a train to New York, then in the evening an overnight flight to London. Wednesday morning around 10 o’clock local time I will be in the London England Temple.
This will be the third time that I have visited that temple. The first time was in 1979 on my around the world trip. The second time was in the year 2000 for Thanksgiving when I took our family over to visit my mother and Neal on their mission in London.

The next day, I will be in Preston England attending the temple there. After that, I go to the Hague in the Netherlands and visit that temple and then on Saturday if all goes well, I’ll be in Frankfurt attending that temple. This is my annual birthday trip to Europe to visit temples! I’m very excited about it!

Very appropriate that on Mother’s Day weekend I will be back at the temple where I visited my mother 26 years ago!

Thank you, DoorDash for a wonderful 5:30 AM McDonald’s big breakfast! It hit the spot perfectly!

You’ve got to love a good train ride on Amtrak! This one is near Aberdeen Maryland on the way to New York 😎

The flight last night was terrific! It’s amazing you can fly in a massive airplane that only has two engines, a crew of 10, including the pilots, and seats 336 people, travels at 600 miles an hour, and right outside the windows of the plane it’s a -70°!

And when you arrive at the airport, the Queen greets you!
I was thrilled to learn that London Gatwick airport is only about seven or 8 miles from the London temple! I took an Uber there this morning at about 630 and arrived around 7 AM. The temple session wasn’t until 10 AM and the London temple offers housing so a wonderful lady named Anne gave me a free room for a couple of hours and I took a much-needed nap.

The session was great! The celestial room in the temple is magnificent with its large pillars and gold ornamentation everywhere. The London temple was dedicated September 7 of 1958, only four months to the day after I was born!

I was thrilled to see the manor house, the place were in the year 2000, we brought our kids to visit my mom and Neal while they were here on their mission! We had Thanksgiving dinner in the manor house.

Right now I’m sitting at Lingfield station, where Neal would frequently come to pick up missionaries. The flowers on the temple grounds were spectacular!
