Rexburg Idaho Temple
May 31, 2018
After visiting the Idaho Falls Temple, and getting my parents checked into a hotel there, I left and drove 30 minutes north to the Rexburg Idaho Temple. The Rexburg Idaho Temple sits majestically up above town on the east side.
Here I decided to take some time to myself and do a regular endowment session. I was able to use a name that my mother had submitted herself, which always makes me feel good.
A man named David Thueson assisted me. It turns out he’s my mission buddy Kevin Thueson’s cousin! Small world!
The murals inside this temple are exquisite. They also make you feel like they were custom done for the area that you’re in, which they were. A couple of young guys who are students at BYU Idaho took my photo after they came out of the temple.
I tip my hat to these young men and women who are temple workers these days. One young lady in particular, a tall blonde haired girl, did a great job in assisting people in the temple. She represents the best of the young single adults in the Church these days. There getting more and more involved in the temple, which is a great thing to see!
I hit McDonald’s right after and grabbed a cheeseburger, a McChicken sandwich, and a large root beer for a total of $3.18. It was great!
Neal got a room at the Best Western for $111 plus tax. He encouraged me to get one at the same time, but I held off. I thought I could get a better deal booking it online and I was right.
After driving back from the Rexburg Temple, I went online and booked a room about 200 yards from Neal for $79 plus tax. He and my mom are sure good sports to come on this temple trip with me. We’ve driven hundreds of miles and visited four temples in Idaho in two days.
It’s been a great deal of fun! The Rexburg Idaho temple is my 13th temple visited this year and my 36th temple so far on Mormon Temple Trek.
