San Juan Puerto Rico Temple

San Juan Puerto Rico Temple

As with most, if not all, of my temple trips, it starts with the airfare. This one took me about 80 searches to finally land on it when I was looking around last Sunday afternoon. Frontier airlines flies nonstop from Baltimore to San Juan, Puerto Rico. More importantly, we have a temple there!

San Juan Puerto Rico Temple

The San Juan Puerto Rico Temple is the 176th dedicated temple of theChurch. It is the third temple dedicated in the Caribbean. It was dedicated January 15, 2023, by Elder D. Todd Christofferson. It services approximately 23,000 saints in the Puerto Rico area.

The flight time to Puerto Rico is three hours and 15 minutes long. The round-trip airfare was only $178!

Inside the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple

The San Juan Puerto Rico Temple has one endowment room, one sealing room, and one baptistery. The endowment room looks like this. It just has three benches and I sat on the back bench in the far corner. There were nine of us in the endowment session. At max it holds maybe 20. I participated in a Spanish endowment session, but without interpretation. I loved the English subtitles!

Outside the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple

I always enjoy filming the flowers that surround one of the Lords temples. This site is no exception!

Also outside the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple is the El Yunque (The White Forest) National Forest, home to a number of spectacular hikes and waterfalls. I’ll let the videos do the rest!
Without a doubt, this was my funnest temple trip I’ve ever done!

The Food

Both the flight attendant on the way down, and the hiking guide this afternoon told me they had to eat at Meson’s Sandwiches, so, I did tonight. It was fabulous all the way around!

As we speak I’m back in the airport waiting for another six hours to pass before I pick up the flight headed to Orlando and then back to Baltimore. What a fabulous last 24 hours!
