Spokane Washington Temple
It’s 132 miles from the Columbia River Washington Temple to the Spokane Temple. I arrived at 2:30 PM and my session wasn’t until 3:30 PM so they let me sit in the celestial room for about a half hour. That was wonderful!
when I entered the endowment room I saw something that really caught my eye. The murals on the walls were painted to make you feel like you had just been sent to Jerusalem. There was the old city of Jerusalem, the garden tomb, the river Jordan, and maybe even the Sea of Galilee. It was a wonderful idea! It made me wonder why this temple was chosen with those murals. I loved it!
I sat on the back row with another gentleman on either side of me. More than once I had to wake both of them up during the session! But we made it through.
It was rainy and wet when I got there so I took a quick selfie out in front of the temple.
Afterwards I went over to Gonzaga University. My mother hates Gonzaga! They always beat BYU in basketball. I decided to call her from the campus just to see how she would handle it. Nobody answered…
I was curious to see their basketball arena and some nice students gave me directions. When I got there I stumbled onto the season opener for the Lady Zags. For $20 I got a ticket on the fourth row! I enjoyed it! I watched the second quarter then took off. On the way out I grabbed one of their famous roast beef sandwiches for the road.
With this visit to the Spokane Washington temple, I have visited four temples in 48 hours. It’s 350 miles back to Portland Oregon. It is going to take me five hours to get there. But it is all worth it! I accomplished my goal!
The Spokane Washington Temple is the 79th temple I have visited since January 2017.
