Fresno California Temple

Fresno California Temple

It’s about a 300 mile drive from the Reno Nevada Temple to the Fresno California Temple over the Sierra Nevada mountains and back through Sacramento. My goal is simply to make it to the Fresno area then get a hotel for the night. I was successful, finding a Knight Inn about 15 miles north of the temple. It was the best $80 I spent all trip!

The sessions Wednesday morning start at 8 o’clock, 9:30, and 11:30. I opted to sleep in till around 9 o’clock and hit the 1130 session. It felt great! On my way there I grabbed a simple breakfast at a Mini Mart.

Thank you Cheerios!

It’s always fun to look for the angel Moroni statue when you get close to a temple you’ve never seen before. In Fresno it was a little tough because all of the sudden there were tall pine trees everywhere.

I also noticed a very smart (and apparently quite spiritual) bird and in the area.

A very very safe spot to hang out 🦅

First Things First

I arrived at 10:30 and quickly did an initiatory for the man whose baptism and confirmation we performed yesterday in Reno. After the initiatory I was ready to do his endowment work for him. I’m amazed at the barcoded computer system these temples use and how fast the work is recorded for anyone with access to look upon.

A Moment To Myself

One thing you can do is wait in the celestial room if you’ve performed any kind of ordinance first in the temple. I took advantage of that and waited for about a half an hour by myself in the celestial room before the session started. It was heavenly to say the least.

I noticed the kingly and powerful colors in the room: lavender/mauve, white, gold, and dark brown. Those are four really good colors that any King would appreciate.

I was thrilled to notice a similar color pattern in the flowers outside. Normally there is a multiple combination of colors in the flowerbeds outside of a temple. This temple had the purple and the white. I don’t know if that’s a coincidence but it certainly matched what was going on inside!

Beautiful!
A gorgeous combination of colors
